As part of my hobby of collecting, researching and writing about model airplane engines, I requested permission from the organizers to photograph engines during processing of the 1996 world championships at Norrköping. They allowed me to do this but also suggested that perhaps I could write an article on my findings. After discussions with editors of Modellflygnytt, I agreed; so here goes.
A review of the engines used for F2C shows the East European countries are still leading in the production of top quality, competitive team race engines. Most of these are either from Russia or the Ukraine.
