My Not-A-Pitch Gauge again |
May 8, 2001
Remember the one-of-a-kind
propeller gauge I made last year?
The idea with this design is that it's foldable, and will measure not just pitch, but also the blade thickness at each radius station. It also has scales for reading the over-all blade radius.
I got quite a few requests for it in response, but I saw no prospects of getting it produced for less than a fortune. A recent offer I got made things look a little better, and I'll have another look at it.
Still, the price will not be low! Compare to the Prather (or other) pitch gauges! A price I have seen for the Prather gauge was US$40. Mine is more than twice as complex, and a realistic price will be on the order of $100.
Now I'd like to know if there is any interest for my prop gauge at the indicated price level.
If you are interested, send me a note. E-mail
My top priority at the moment is my speed timing system so the time frame for this project is later this year.
